Description

Quick Status (QS) provides the current location of a Purchase Request (PR) in the acquisition process, including contract tracking across various databases and disparate systems.
Basic functionality provides the status as related to the acquisition process of obtaining goods and services to accomplish the NASA mission. The pre-PR stage data are presented (data available prior to entry into SAP). After the data are entered into SAP, the status through the approval process is depicted. Upon entry into PRISM, a set of acquisition milestones are presented, including the anticipated award date. Once awarded the status changes to reflect the receiving process in the case of goods delivery and contract administration activities, as appropriate.
The vast majority of the data are obtained from an agency reporting database, the Enhanced Procurement Data Warehouse (EPDW). The aforementioned system extracts and loads data from: the NASA COTS contract writing software package PRISM, the NASA COTS financial management software SAP and the federal-wide GSA software Federal Procurement Data System – Next Generation (FPDS-NG). Additional data may also be extracted from P-Card Web Solution and Accounts Payable Work Management System (AWMS). Any other system that contains data applicable to the acquisition process is a candidate to be included in QS. Only data classified as a low security risk will be available; however, appropriate NASA credentials with assigned rolls are required.
This application is modular in design and intended to be a living system that encompasses many data sources, utilizing state-of-the-art presentation methods. The delivery vehicles leverage cutting edge technologies, including but not limited to JavaScript-enabled Internet browsers, opt-in push notifications containing acquisition updates, as well as smart phone apps engineered for various mobile devices.
